About Pam
I’ve sat where you’re sitting.
I know what it costs.
I know what it takes to build something better on the other side.
Hi, I’m Pam Stroud.
I work with seasoned female leaders at the moment everything shifts whatever direction that takes them, we believe in.
We’re here to create work that matters, led by a shared commitment to quality and care.
My Story
Twenty years in. Then everything shifted.
I spent more than 20 years at the top of corporate Australia, leading talent management, HR strategy, and career development at Transurban, REA Group, Bupa and Boost. I was the person organisations trusted when the stakes were high. I built the frameworks, sat inside the decisions, and shaped the careers of senior people from the inside.
I was good at it. Well rewarded for it.
And then I hit the moment that every woman I now coach recognises immediately.
I could go back. I could land another role. But I’d always be one restructure away from someone else making a decision about my life.
So I decided to go out on my own. And then I did everything wrong.
What didn’t work before I found what did
I hired coaches before I knew what problem I was trying to solve. I sent emails to my network that basically said ‘I exist, please help.’ I went to networking events and collected business cards like that was a strategy. I offered to help people for free, because surely that would get a foot in the door.
The thing that actually changed it
I stopped. I found a coach who got my head right. And then I did the work she couldn’t do for me I went back to 20 years of hard-won expertise and asked myself one honest question: what do I actually know that other people genuinely need?
I built a proposal around that. Priced it properly. Sent it.
They said yes. First time. Full rate.
The problem was never my expertise. It was that I’d been hiding it behind discount pricing and a slightly panicked energy that no amount of networking was going to fix.
Where I am now
I work with incredible clients, seasoned female leaders doing genuinely meaningful work in the world and I get to be part of what they build next. Some are launching fractional practices that have already surpassed their corporate salaries. Some are back inside corporate, but on their terms, with their worth properly recognised. All of them have stopped waiting.
I work fractionally and in a consulting capacity myself. I am building multiple revenue streams. My kids are happy and healthy. I am healthier than I have ever been.
None of that happened by accident. And none of it happened until I stopped doing the wrong things and built a proper plan.
I built The Pivot Space because I watched too many brilliant, capable women navigate this moment alone and get it wrong in exactly the ways I did. The redundancy. The slow erosion of a role that used to fit. The perimenopause fog nobody in corporate talks about. The moment you realise you’ve been performing a version of yourself for so long you’ve genuinely lost track of what you actually want.
That plan is what I bring to every client.
How I work
What working with me actually looks like
I work on the whole thing at once, the strategy and the stuff underneath it that’s quietly running the show.
I’ll push you commercially. On your proposition, your pricing, your positioning. I won’t let you leave money on the table because you’re uncomfortable charging what you’re worth.
I’ll also call you out warmly, but clearly, when you’re about to make a decision from fear rather than strategy. I’ve made most of those decisions myself. I recognise them immediately.
I bring in specialist partners for the things that need someone better than me;
I don’t do toxic positivity. I don’t do vague inspiration.
I tell you what I see. What I think will work. What I think you should do next.
